Director, Traditional Oral Submissions

A Better TomorrowTM is about establishing responsible social and environmental practices that strengthen communities.

Role at Reynolds

My role is to build the submissions strategies for the portfolio. As part of that strategy, I drive execution of product builds for testing, engage with the business to find efficiencies and better ways of working for all oral product submissions, and collaborate with the Modern Oral Submissions team to align workstreams where possible. My role is also to develop the people and teams who will lead transformation in the company in the future.

Growing up I wanted to be…

I have wanted to be a scientist as long as I can remember. One of my favorite books as a kid was “The Value of Believing in Yourself: The Story of Louis Pasteur” by Spencer Johnson. My parents read this book to me and my brother until the cover fell off it. It is the story of a chemist who pioneered vaccinations because he saw a need in his time. This story ignited a scientific curiosity in us at an early age that my brother and I still carry today as chemists who are happy to do our part to transform our respective industries.

What does A Better TomorrowTM mean to you?

A Better TomorrowTM is about establishing responsible social and environmental practices that strengthen communities. It is about being the gold standard in the industry for employees and product development. A Better Tomorrow is transformation, bringing the tobacco industry into the 21st century. It is leaving a legacy of striving to leave a place better than you found it.

Favorite scientist?

The people I get to work with here at Reynolds. The regulatory submission process allows me to work with stakeholders across functions, and I have been able to work with many of the talented individuals in this company. I have found these same talented individuals to be incredibly kind, dedicating time and resources to the community where we live, work, and play. The diversity in backgrounds and the breadth of knowledge affords me an opportunity to learn something new on the daily and keeps me engaged in the task at hand as we all work together to build A Better TomorrowTM.
